everyone else is doing it...writing a blog and making money.  weird.  i remember my first typing class in high school.  the cat has one tail.

i had a long 12 hour work day.  one patient who wants to die and his family seems ready as well...there is a lot of money involved.  I generally try to stay out of the way...out of personal affairs but strangers always bring me in as a mediator when I am the one in between there sick loved one and themselves.


we, in the healthcare profession, have nicknames for just about every individual characteristic.  "pickers" are those who literally pick their skin either because they are coming off of a high of they pick their skin and eat it b/c it still gets them high (methadone addicts).  "pockets" are those who eat their meal but pocket it in the side of their mouths, psychologically unsure why, generally older folks practice this behavior.  swish and swash the food particles in their mouth to tuck right in their own cheek.  i've seen patients do it to the point beyond hunger. why?  


i treat regular ol joes as well...but those are few and far between. there are some faces i will never forget and then i go home at the end of the day.
